New News

This update is difficult to write. Kylee was admitted to Kaisers Addiction Rehab Center tonight. She is not the typical "Addict" so I don't want people to put her in that box. She has been on prescribed narcotics for 18 months now. The strongest being this last month after her surgery. Because of the long time use she requires more than the average person. She is not in pain anymore so she has been slowly weaning herself off the medications with a small amount of guidance from a pain clinic doctor. Unfortunately she tried to wean too quickly (she is anxious to get off them al together) She threw herself in to major withdrawal. She has lost 17 lbs in the last couple of weeks. She weighs 90 lbs now. Not keeping anything down. We took her to the ER this afternoon and they gave her some IV fluids and medications. Then we requested to have help with the weaning process so she doesn't waste away anymore. Brookside was the answer. The hard part is that she will have to get worse before she can get better. Also she can't have any visitors except on Wednesdays and Saturdays for 1.5 hours. Please pray this is a quick process for her. She is very happy to have a solution but very sad that she can't see us.
