The 4th...

The night of the 3rd I started having some discomfort in my stomach but went to bed to ignore it. When I woke up on the 4th it was still there and a little worse. Through out the day the pain got stronger and more intense and the pain felt like the pain I experienced before my obstruction. So I had my dad take me to the ER around 8 o'clock. Once there they gave me pain meds and did an x-ray. The pain meds helped relieve the pain. The surgeon came in and said that my x-ray looked clean and so the pain may be from a partial obstruction that is trying to clear itself up. She offered for me to go home and be on a clear liquid diet, or get admitted so they could observe me. I decided to be admitted because I didn't want to have to come back and because the pain felt like the pain before the obstruction I was afraid to go home. So I stayed the night, they continued to give me i.v. pain meds which helped. The next morning the pain was better, so they discharged me. I still feel the pain but it is not really strong. I am just keeping an eye on how it feels etc. I am hoping that it is just a partial obstruction like the surgeon said and that it is clearing itself up.
I am feeling really beat up, I am tired of not feeling good. If its not one thing its another that has to cause problems. :( All I can ask is to please pray for strength for me, and comfort from God to get through this. I'll try to update again soon.

P.S. the taper schedule to get off the pain meds is going well. I am so grateful to have a schedule to follow so I wont go through withdrawal again. I have gained about 12 lbs back as well. I weigh 102 now so working on getting back up to 120. :) I had my last pain class last week. The last one was a one-on-one talk with one of the "leaders". This one-on-one was helpful, she gave me ideas on how to get Kaiser to approve acupuncture for me and different forms of integrative medicine because from what she has seen she thinks it works better for people with crohn's or colitis. So hopefully I can use the tips she gave me to get to feeling all better. I am wanting to try/do acupuncture, massage, chiropractic, reflexology/acupressure and maybe aryuveda medicine which is an indian medicine offered at Kaiser pain clinic. They say it usually recommends lots of changes and so people don't do the whole thing but take aspects of it and incorporate it into their lives and have success. She also recommended theraputic yoga, so I want to look into that as well. Lots of ideas and new things to try. I am looking forward to seeing if these things help. Hopefully I can get Kaiser to approve these for me because it could get expensive. Okay I think that is everything... if I think of more I will enter more later. bye
