Sorry it has been so long since I have updated this thing, I get busy and forget that I have this. So here is an update from my mom's last post in November.
- School - I took the CNA 1 (Certified Nursing Assistant) course through PCC in the spring and passed the test, and now I just finished the CNA 2 course through PCC. The difference between 1 and 2 is that CNA 1's work in Nursing Homes/Hospice/Long Term care, and CNA 2's have some extra skills in our scope of practice and we can work in Hospitals as well as the Nursing Homes etc. I only have the last Anatomy and Physiology course and Microbiology to take before I can get in the nursing program but the professor I have been taking them from isn't teaching it this term so I think I am going to try and get a job as a CNA 2 for Fall term and then take the courses in Winter. Then Nursing applications for next Fall are due this February. :)
- Health - I have still been doing pretty good. I have good days and bad days, but overall feeling better. I have been maintaining my weight, still would like to put on about 10-15 pounds but I am not losing. I also have been able to decrease the amount of pain medication I am taking so that is exciting too. I would love to get off them completely but my Doctor says lets just see how I do. I finished the Drug Study that was the "Drug vs. Placebo" which was double-blinded, although we knew I was getting the drug, in July, and was invited into the "Open Label" study that means it's not blind at all everyone knows your getting the medication. And the "Open Label" study can last up to 4 years, so hopefully the FDA will approve it in that amount of time and then I can continue through Kaiser. I am so thankful to Christ for getting me into the study, it has definitely improved my quality of life.
- Living - I am still living with the Dart Family in Wilsonville. I thought when Rachel left for England I would move back home, but decided that this arrangement is working out really well and I think its good for independence so I am going to stay here till I feel God is opening a new door. So I will have a bed/room to stay in when I stay at my parents but I will still live in Wilsonville. Once again I am so thankful to Christ for the Dart family, and thankful to the Dart family for letting me live with them and making me apart of the family. :)
- Church - Still attending Willamette Christian Church and loving it, it is a great church to be apart of. :) I am apart of a young women's bible study and that is also really good, this Fall we are going through Galatians which should be cool.
Well I think that covers everything, if you think there is something I missed just let me know and I'll post an update about it. :) Hope all of you are doing well!
In Christ -
Kylee
