MRI Results and Plan

    Saw my GI Doctor this morning and she told me my MRI showed that I have significant inflammation in the last part of my small intestine (my terminal ileum). Luckily she said this is the only area that showed inflammation and it is a common spot for Crohn's flare, but at least it is only one area we have to worry about. We are going to start me on a medication like prednisone but that doesn't have the bad side effects of prednisone. If that doesn't work to control the inflammation we will have to switch and try prednisone. If the prednisone doesn't work then she wants to do surgery to remove the 10cm section. I am grateful to finally feel like we are moving forward. Starting the new medications does kick me out of Drug study but my GI confirmed that I could continue getting the drug at the frequency I have been, just getting it through Kaiser instead. Overall I feel good about this plan and I am just looking at this as a little bump in the road and I will be back to my healthy self again soon! Thank you everyone for your prayers and support.
